Currency Exchange Assistance

Reliable help with Saudi riyal and other foreign currency, so your Hajj, Umrah or international trip is one less thing to worry about. We guide you and connect you with an authorised money changer.

What we do

How we help

  • Saudi riyal for Umrah and Hajj
  • Other foreign currency for travel
  • Guidance on how much to carry
  • Connecting you with an authorised money changer
Getting your travel money ready before you leave.

How it works

We are not a money changer ourselves. We make the process simple and connect you with one who is authorised.

  1. 1

    Tell us what you need

The currency, the amount and your travel date — on WhatsApp, by phone or at our Nashik office.

  2. 2

    We guide you on papers

Which documents to keep ready and how much cash you can carry, explained before you go.

  3. 3

Exchange with an authorised money changer

We put you in touch with an authorised money changer. The rate and charges are theirs, confirmed on the day.

  4. 4

    Fly with riyals in hand

Collect your currency a few days before departure, so your first days in Makkah are easy.

Working out how much to carry

There is no single right amount. These four questions get you close.

  • Count your days

Package meals cover breakfast, lunch and dinner. Set a small daily amount for tea, snacks and little purchases, and multiply by your days.

  • Add one-off costs

Gifts and dates for family, a local SIM, extra laundry or a taxi outside the group plan.

  • Keep a reserve

Set aside a little extra for the unexpected, kept apart from your daily money.

  • Ask us

We help you arrive at a figure that fits your days, your plans and how many people are sharing costs.

Cash or card?

Most pilgrims carry both: riyal cash for daily needs and a card as a back-up.

Saudi riyal cash

  • Accepted everywhere, from tea stalls to taxis
  • Small notes make daily purchases easy
  • Split it between your pouch, your bag and the hotel locker
  • If it is lost, it is gone — carry only what you need each day

Debit or credit card

  • Accepted at many shops, malls and restaurants
  • Ask your bank to switch on international use before you fly
  • Check the foreign transaction and ATM charges
  • Keep your bank’s helpline number with you

What to bring when you exchange

The money changer decides the papers based on the amount and the rules in force. With these, you will usually be ready.

  • Original passport, and a photocopy
  • Valid visa for the country you are visiting
  • Confirmed air ticket
  • PAN card, where the rules ask for it
  • The currency and amount you need
  • Payment in a mode the rules allow for your amount — we tell you in advance

Good to know

Suhail Haj & Umrah Tours is not a licensed money changer. We assist you through the process; the exchange itself is done by an authorised money changer under the foreign-exchange rules that apply in India. Those rules decide the documents, the amount you can exchange and how you can pay. Limits on carrying foreign cash out of India also apply, and we explain them when you contact us.
