How far you walk shapes your days more than anything else. Here is how the main options compare.
Makkah — next to the Haram
- The shortest walk to the Haram
- Easier for elders and for praying every salah in the Haram
- The highest rates, especially in Ramadan and holidays
- Rooms sell out early in busy seasons
Makkah — about 500–800 m
- Our package hotels are here, in the Bir Balila area, about 650 m away
- A walk most pilgrims manage several times a day
- A balance between distance and price
- Ask about the route — some streets slope or have steps
Makkah — farther, with shuttle
- Lower rates and more choice of rooms
- You rely on the hotel’s shuttle, where one is provided
- Shuttles get crowded around prayer times
- Check the shuttle timings, especially for Fajr and on Fridays
Madinah — central area (Markaziya)
- Hotels around Masjid an-Nabawi
- Our package hotels are about 200 m away
- Short walks to the gates for most hotels in this area
- Women’s prayer areas have their own gates — ask which is nearest
Rooms and comfort
5-bed average sharing
The standard package price is based on an average of five people per room. It keeps the cost down for groups and relatives.
Quad sharing
Four people per room, with a little more space. The price is shared on request for your dates.
Triple sharing
Three people per room — a common choice for parents travelling with one grown-up child.
Double sharing
Two people per room, for couples or elders who need more rest. The price is shared on request.
Lift and access
Need a lift, a lower floor or a step-free entrance? Tell us early. Not every hotel can offer all of these, so we check before booking.
Meals
Package stays include an Indian buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For hotel-only bookings, the meal plan depends on the rate, and we confirm it.
Questions to ask before you book a hotel
- How far is it to the Haram on foot, and to which gate?
- Is there a lift, and how busy does it get at prayer times?
- How many people share the room, and are the beds separate?
- Which meals are included, and what kind of food is served?
- What are the check-in and check-out times for our flights?
- Is there a shuttle, and when does it run?
- Is laundry available in or near the hotel?
- Can elders have a room on a lower floor or near the lift?
- If the hotel changes, will it be of the same standard and distance?
About the distances we quote
Figures like “up to 650 m” are approximate walking distances from the hotel to the Haram area. Your real walk depends on the gate you use, the crowd and the route you take. Our team tells you the hotel area before you book.
