Key points
- Private Hajj from India is only allowed through a Hajj Group Organiser (HGO) registered with the Ministry of Minority Affairs for that year.
- Ask the HGO for its registration details and check them against the official list before you pay anything.
- Know exactly what the price includes: flights, Makkah and Madinah hotels, Aziziyah, the Mina and Arafat tents, meals, transport and qurbani.
- Hajj packages are tentative and subject to Saudi and Indian government policy and approvals, so ask how changes and refunds are handled.
Why these questions matter
Hajj is a large payment, made months before the journey, for days that depend on Saudi and Indian approvals. Most problems families face come from things that were never asked: a hotel far from the Haram, a tent category they did not expect, or a refund rule they did not know.
Sit with the HGO, take a family member with you, and go through these questions one by one. Write down the answers.
About the HGO
- 1
Step 1
1. Are you a registered HGO for this Hajj year?
Private Hajj quota goes only to HGOs registered and allotted quota for that year. Ask for the registration details and check them on the official list published by the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

2. Where is your office, and who will travel with the group?
Visit the office. Ask who the group leader will be in Saudi Arabia and how you can reach them.

Step 3
3. How many years have you taken pilgrims for Hajj?
Ask to speak to a family that went with them in an earlier year.

4. What exactly does the price include?
Flights, Makkah and Madinah hotels and their distance from the Haram, Aziziyah building, Mina and Arafat tents, meals, transport, ziyarat, visa and insurance. Ask for anything not included.

5. Shifting or non-shifting?
In a shifting package you move from a Haram-side hotel to a building in Aziziyah before the days of Hajj. In a non-shifting package you stay near the Haram throughout. Ask which one, and for how many days.

Step 3
6. Which Mina tent category?
Saudi Arabia sets tent categories and locations in Mina and Arafat. Ask which category the package uses, and whether meals and bedding are included there.

Step 4
7. Is qurbani included?
Pilgrims doing Hajj Tamattu or Qiran must offer the hady. Ask whether it is in the price, or how and when you pay for it.
- 5
Step 5
8. How many days, and which dates?
Ask for the expected departure and return dates and the nights in each city, knowing that they can move with the moon sighting and flight approvals.
About money

- 2
Step 2
10. Will I get a receipt for every payment?
Keep every receipt and bank record together in one folder, with the package details.
- 3
Step 3
11. What happens if Hajj is cancelled or my visa is refused?
Ask the refund rule for each case: if you cancel, if the quota or visa does not come through, or if a family member falls ill.

12. Will there be Hajj training before we leave?
Good HGOs hold training sessions on the rites of Hajj, health and what to pack. Ask when they are, and whether women and elderly pilgrims get help on the days of Hajj.
With Suhail Haj & Umrah Tours, our Hajj 2027 packages are tentative and subject to Saudi and Indian government policy and approvals. Every booking is confirmed by our Nashik office. Ask us any of these questions before you pay.
