Key points
- Ramzan 1448 is expected to begin around 8 February 2027 in Saudi Arabia (8 or 9 February in India) and end around 9 March, subject to the sighting of the moon.
- Choose the first half for a calmer stay, the full month if you have the leave and the health, or the last ten nights, the busiest time of all.
- Book early, ideally by December. Demand for Ramzan seats, flights and hotels rises from November to January.
- Prices are higher in Ramzan, and highest in the last ten nights. Ask for the exact price for your dates.
- As reported, the visa must be used within about 30 days of issue, so it is applied for close to travel, once bookings are fixed.
Ramzan Umrah 2027 at a glance
Ramzan Umrah 2027 means travelling between about 8 February and 9 March 2027, when Ramzan 1448 is expected in Saudi Arabia, subject to the sighting of the moon. For many families in India, Umrah in Ramzan is a long-held wish. A well-known hadith speaks of the great reward of Umrah in this month, and the Haram is full of life at sehri, iftar and taraweeh. But a Ramzan Umrah 2027 needs more planning than a normal Umrah: seats go early, prices are higher and the crowds are bigger.
Here are the expected dates. The Islamic calendar follows the moon, so each date can move by a day or so.
- Ramzan 1448 begins: around 8 February 2027 in Saudi Arabia, and 8 or 9 February in India
- Last ten nights (last ashra): expected to begin around 27–28 February 2027
- Eid al-Fitr: expected around 9–10 March 2027 in Saudi Arabia; in India often a day later
- Umrah visas this season, as reported: last issue around 9 March 2027, last entry into Saudi Arabia around 23 March 2027, and all Umrah pilgrims to leave by around 7 April 2027
Ramzan and Eid dates depend on the sighting of the moon, and the visa dates are as reported in October 2026. We confirm the current dates when you enquire.
First half, full month or last ten nights?
Start with two questions: how many days can you be away, and what matters most to your family in this Ramzan? Most families choose one of three plans.
- The first half of Ramzan: the calmest choice. Crowds are lighter than at the end of the month, hotels are easier to find, and elders can settle into fasting and prayer at their own pace.
- The full month: you arrive before the first fast and stay until the end of Ramzan, and for Eid if the dates allow. It needs about a month of leave and good health, because the nights are long.
- The last ten nights (last ashra): you arrive before the 21st night and spend the odd nights in the Haram, hoping for Laylat al-Qadr. This is the most sought-after time, the most crowded and usually the most costly.
Ask how the nights are split between Makkah and Madinah, and in which city you will spend the last ten nights. Our Ramzan 2027 groups are 21 days (5–25 February) and the full month (5 February–10 March); only the full-month group stays for the last ten nights.
When to book, and how the visa timing works
Demand for Ramzan Umrah rises from November to January, and seats, flights and hotels near the Haram fill quickly. Try to book by December, and earlier if you want the last ten nights.
The visa comes last. As reported for the 2026–27 season, hotel and transport must be booked through Nusuk first, and the visa must be used for entry within about 30 days of issue. So it is applied for close to your travel date, once your bookings are fixed.
- 1
Step 1
Now (October–November 2026)
Check every passport: it should be valid for at least 6 months from travel, with blank pages. Start any renewal now. Decide who is travelling and which part of Ramzan suits you.
- 2
Step 2
November–December 2026
Choose your dates and book. Share passport copies, photos, and PAN and Aadhaar copies with our team.
- 3
Step 3
January 2027
See your doctor about fasting and travel, especially for elders and anyone on regular medicines. Start walking every day, learn the steps of Umrah and install the Nusuk app.
- 4
Step 4
Close to travel
The visa is applied for once bookings are fixed. Check your visa, tickets and hotel details as soon as you receive them.
- 5
Step 5
The final week
Pack light, keep medicines in your hand luggage and rest well. Ask your scholar about fasting on the day you fly.
Visa rules change from season to season, sometimes at short notice. Our team confirms the current rules and dates when you apply.
Crowds in Ramzan, and how to plan your prayers
The Haram is busy all month. In the last ten nights, and above all on the odd nights and the 27th night, the crowds are very large. The prayer halls and courtyards fill long before Isha, and some entrances are closed once the area inside is full. Families who leave the hotel late often end up praying in the outer courtyards or on the streets.
None of this should worry you. It only means planning your day around the prayers you care about most.
- Leave early for Isha and taraweeh, well before the adhan, and stay in your place until the prayer ends.
- Fix a meeting point at a gate number you can remember, and agree a time to meet after the prayer.
- Keep every child and elder with an adult, with the hotel card and a phone number in their pocket.
- Carry a small bag: a prayer mat, a water bottle, your phone and a little money. Large bags may be stopped at the gates.
- For tawaf, the late morning is often calmer than the nights, as many people rest after a long night of prayer.
- Never push through a crowd. If an area is full, pray where the staff guide you.
Sehri, iftar and a routine with time to rest
In Ramzan, the day in Makkah and Madinah turns around. The nights are for taraweeh, qiyam and du’a, and the days are for rest. Without a plan for sleep, most people are worn out within a few days.
Many pilgrims open their fast in the Haram, where dates, water and simple food are often shared at iftar. Ask how your hotel meals are timed for sehri and iftar, and keep some dates and water in your room in case you are late.
A simple daily routine that many pilgrims follow:
- 1
Step 1
Sehri
Eat at the hotel, drink plenty of water, then leave for Fajr.
- 2
Step 2
After Fajr
Sleep for a few hours. For most pilgrims this is the main rest of the day.
- 3
Step 3
Late morning to Dhuhr
Tawaf, Qur’an or quiet time in the Haram, then pray Dhuhr.
- 4
Step 4
Afternoon
A second short rest. Elders especially should not skip it.
- 5
Step 5
Asr to Maghrib
Reach the Haram early, find a place, and spend the time in Qur’an and du’a until iftar.
- 6
Step 6
Isha and taraweeh
Pray Isha and taraweeh. In the last ten nights, many also stand for qiyam late at night, then return for sehri.
Questions about fasting while travelling, or fasting with an illness or regular medicines, are for a qualified scholar and your doctor. Ask them before you leave home.
Weather in February and March, and what to pack
Ramzan 2027 falls in late winter and early spring. Days in Makkah are warm but nothing like the summer heat, and nights in Madinah can feel cool, especially in February. The air-conditioned halls and coaches can feel cold at night, and the air is dry.

Elders and children in Ramzan
Elderly parents and children can have a good Ramzan Umrah with some planning. For most families, the first half of the month is the calmest choice for them.
- See the doctor before you book, especially for diabetes, blood pressure, heart or kidney problems, and plan medicines around sehri and iftar.
- Whether an elder or a sick person should fast is a question for a qualified scholar, with your doctor’s advice.
- Plan wheelchair help for tawaf and sa’i, and tell us about mobility needs when you enquire.
- If you travel in the last ten nights, keep elders away from the heaviest crowds on the odd nights.
- Put a card with the hotel name and a parent’s phone number in every child’s pocket, and teach them to stay where they are and ask a staff member for help if they get lost.
- On tiring nights, let elders pray at a calmer time or in a quieter place. Rest is part of the plan.
Eid in Makkah or Madinah
Praying Eid al-Fitr in the Haram is a wish for many families. It needs planning: the Eid prayer is held soon after sunrise, and the mosque and the roads around it fill from Fajr or even earlier. Go early, go together and fix a meeting point for afterwards.
Whether you will be in Makkah, in Madinah or back home on Eid depends on your flights and the season’s visa dates. If Eid in the Haram matters to you, say so at the start, and ask where the group will be around Eid and when the return flight leaves.
Plan your zakat al-fitr (fitrana) before Eid too. Ask your scholar how and where to give it while you are away.
Umrah after Ramzan 2027: the season closes soon after
Very little time is left for Umrah after Ramzan 2027. As reported from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah calendar for the 1448 season, the last Umrah visa is issued around 9 March 2027, the last entry into Saudi Arabia is around 23 March, and all Umrah pilgrims must leave by around 7 April.
So an Umrah after Eid works only if your visa is issued by about 9 March and you enter by about 23 March. After that, Umrah visas are expected to reopen only after Hajj 2027, in the summer heat.
These dates are as reported in October 2026 and can change. We confirm the current dates when you enquire.
Budget: why Ramzan Umrah costs more
Ramzan is the busiest season for Umrah. Hotels, flights and transport all cost more, and the last ten nights cost the most, especially for hotels close to the Haram. Prices also tend to climb as Ramzan comes closer, so booking early gives you more choice.
Ramzan rates are different from our regular 15 and 20 day package rates, and we share the exact price for your dates when you enquire. Before you pay, compare these points:
